Woopi, ace new cover Philadelphia magazine.
Design Director: Jesse Southerlandtells me:
"Since we have been doing our "Best of" issue since 1974 we wanted it to feel authentic and authoritative so we decided to skip the chalkboard trend :) and do something far more permanent! We had the entire cover (minus the barcode) done out of signage on a piece of glass. A mix of gold leaf lettering, screen printing and hand painting. We could have done it in photoshop, but if we still expect people to buy print I figure we needed to put our money where our mouth is and do this for real! We collaborated with The Heads of State for the typography and old-school sign maker Gibbs Connors."
