Block Club (US)
Intriguing cover Block Club magazine
Editor Ben Siegel tells me:
"Our latest issue is called Quality/Quantity. In it, we discuss the attitudes and perceptions of well-made things, and the quantity of them that we consume. Our image series contains popular stock images, which we pixelated and, with Chris Fritton from the Western New York Book Arts Center (WNYBAC), letterpressed clichés on top of. There are five total pages featuring four images (front and back covers are continuous). We wanted to make a statement about quality and quantity by commenting on the overwhelming prevalence of stock images in media. Their intended quality is weakened by the fact that everyone uses them. The clichés we chose add a verbal element, wonderfully letterpressed in collaboration with WNYBAC."
