ASME cover awards, finalist 2009: most delicious magazine cover The goal with this cover was to bring a fresh perspective to an American icon, the hamburger. Photographer Nigel Cox was hired specifically for his ability to create images that are both architectural and incredibly sensual. In order to heighten the monumental feel of this hamburger, we enhanced its verticality by shooting from a low angle. In addition to being dramatic, this specific lighting was chosen to give the feeling of the warmth and sunshine of a July afternoon.
