Francesco Franchi’s fav 2
This week Coverjunkie asked Francesco Franchi, Design Director for awardwinning IL Magazine (a supplement from Italian Il Sole 24 ORE) about his favorite covers:
Here Francesco's second favorite cover (out of 3) he designed himself:
IL 30
May 2011: "Miseria e dignità"
Here another example how current events could be used as a key to understand changes in lifestyle. In this particular cover, looking at what happened in Lampedusa — the Italian island where several immigrants from Lybia and Tunisia landed — we analyze how poverty builds the boundaries of the new ghettos. Slums, favelas and separated city quarters are more similar to concentration camps than we would like to admit. Are the poor people really all criminal?
